Whisper it, but apocalyptic visions of the mining industry foretold in March have yet to come to pass. Yes, there have been – and continue to be – a raft of production outages as a result of the pandemic, but judging by the Q2 results released over the past couple of weeks, many of the big names have escaped relatively unscathed so far, and in some cases even thrived.
