Potash Corp and Agrium in merger talks

After failing to acquire German rival K+S last year, Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan has jumped back into the M&A fray and is discussing a merger of equals with fellow TSX and NYSE-listed agricultural company, Agrium.

Both companies have confirmed the talks with the standard caveat that no transaction may follow, but there appear fewer hurdles to overcome with Potash Corp’s latest piece of potential market consolidation....
