Blue Horseshoe Ventures launches their new capital-raising platform

Blue Horseshoe Ventures Pty Limited (BHV) today announces the launch of their digital capital raising platform, Blu Horseshoe, with the mission of providing sophisticated & professional investors with a wide range of financial opportunities in the secondary market space. The Australian company is backed by a strategic network of major media and financial advisory firms in Australia and abroad, and possesses a team with decades of financial expertise and market experience.

Solving a common issue for investors: opportunity access

The Blu Horseshoe platform has been designed to address accessibility issues with the full spectrum of opportunities offered in the Australian capital raising market.

While initial public offerings (IPOs) receive the most attention, many investors don't know that most of the capital raised by listed companies in Australia come from the secondary markets. In 2021, raises from secondary placements totalled $60.2 billion AUD alone. In previous years, secondary placements have contributed up to 76% of all capital raised on the ASX.

Blu Horseshoe has been built to not only provide extra access for investors to potential opportunities, but also do so fairly and equally across all clients. As said by Blu Horseshoe's CEO, Antony Tolfts, "Whoever you are, you get the same proportion of what you bid for as all the other bidders. We don't take anything for ourselves, instead we pass it on to the investors on a pro-rata basis.

Helping capital-seeking companies reach an untapped base of private investors

Blu Horseshoe also seeks to solve a major issue for companies seeking capital: finding eligible investors outside of the public sphere.

Secondary placements, along with pre-IPO opportunities with unlisted companies, are only available to a subset of private investors that qualify as sophisticated or professional investors. To be a sophisticated investor, one must either earn over $250,000 AUD annually pre-tax or own net assets exceeding $2.5 million AUD (including property).

Despite these requirements, there is a significant market of untapped investors that aren't yet involved. Within Australia alone, there are an estimated 3.25 million sophisticated investors that qualify as sophisticated investors, with rises in property prices being one main factor. Internationally, investors in New Zealand, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland can also qualify under the same requirements.

A globally recognised and renowned strategic partnership network

Underpinning Blu Horseshoe's commercial and industry activities is a strategic network across media, finance and technology.

Strategic partners include Aspermont Limited (ASX:ASP), Australia's leading media services provider to the global resource industries, with a portfolio of resource-focused publications and a large network of corporate and private investors. Additionally, Blu Horseshoe benefits from connections with IPC, a noted Australian advisory firm that specialises in working with high-net-worth clients; and Spark Plus, a Singapore-based corporate advisory firm with a large user base of hedge funds.

"This is a real point of difference for Blu Horseshoe," says Tolfts. "Each of our material shareholders have deep roots in the Australian capital markets, along with presence & access to a wide range of international markets."

An experienced team with significant financial expertise

The team at Blu Horseshoe is uniquely suited to raising capital within the Australian financial market.

The company's CEO, Antony Tolfts, has a distinguished directorial and executive CV across several ASX-listed companies. Tolfts has worked as the Director of Market Supervision at the Sydney Stock Exchange after starting as Listings Director.

On the operations side, Pathhik Vora, the Senior Operations Manager, has 12 years' experience in financial markets across Australia and New Zealand. Vora has worked across several major Australian and international brokerage firms including the New Zealand Stock Exchange (NZX), Ord Minnett, Pershing, and Openmarkets Group.
