BC upgrades tailings storage standards

The Government of British Columbia has said it will introduce new regulations and requirements for tailings storage facilities (TSF) following the findings and recommendations of the chief inspector of mines’ (CIM) investigation into the TSF failure at Imperial Metals’ Mount Polley copper-gold mine in August 2014.
