South African mining minister Mosebenzi Zwane has taken a controversial stance with the industry he oversees: thrusting policies on it with little engagement. Now, with the furore continuing over the new mining code, newspaper Business Day has said he's not the right person for the job.

Business Day said in an editorial this week Zwane had to go and, unless he did, president Jacob Zuma would have to take the blame for the damage wrought on the mining industry.
