S&P, Bernstein clash on gold outlook

S&P and Bernstein have both reported on gold – but have reached rather different conclusions. The use of US currency as a political weapon, plus changing bank regulation and investor sentiment will likely propel the precious metal forward, according to Bernstein. But S&P cautioned that mining companies shouldn’t get too carried away, as the price recovery would need to sustain itself longer before mining companies can expect an upgrade.
