Lucara sells diamond for US$53 million

Lucara Diamond Corp (CN:LUC) has sold the world’s largest gem-quality diamond found in more than a century for US$53 million, or the equivalent of $47,777 per carat, to jeweller Graff Diamonds.

The Lesedi La Rona diamond has sold for US$53 million

The diamond named Lesedi La Rona measured 1,111ct when it was recovered from Lucara’s Karowe mine in Botswana in November 2015, and is now 1,109ct.
