Snow impacts Firestone diamond recoveries

Firestone Diamonds (AIM:FDI) saw diamond recoveries from its 75%-owned Liqhobong diamond mine in Lesotho slip marginally quarter-on-quarter in the July-September period as a cold winter in the highlands and a number of days of snow led to minor production delays.

After the end of the September quarter, Firestone recovered its largest stone to date from Liqhobong, a 326ct near-gem diamond

It recovered 240,733 carats of diamonds at a grade of 23.8 carats per hundred tonnes, down from the previous quarter's 263,512ct at a grade of 25.7cpht.
