Kirkland braced for COVID detour

Kirkland Lake Gold’s March quarter net earnings of US$202.9 million were 20% up on the previous three months and 84% higher than for Q1 last year, reflecting stronger gold prices and a 18% quarter-on-quarter bump-up in production to 331,000oz. Kirkland Lake Gold's Fosterville mine in Australia underpinned a strong production profile during the first quarter of 2020

Kirkland got a COVID and winter affected 92,000oz contribution from Detour Lake, the acquisition of which was closed at the end of January, and slightly sub-par 51,000oz from Macassa, both in Canada.
