Struthers, a former Lundin Mining (CN:LUN) employee that held project director and senior project manager positions at the firm, comes on board as the company looks to move forward with its Kvemo Bolnisi copper-gold project in Georgia.
In addition to his time at Lundin - from 2011 to 2017 - Struthers was director and principal geotechnical engineer for mining consultancy AMC Consultants between 1994 and 2007. At AMC, he led teams on a range of projects for major miners such as Rio Tinto (LN:RIO) and BHP (AU:BHP).
Georgian CEO Greg Kuenzel said of Struthers' appointment: "I am confident his addition to the team will prove to be invaluable as we look to establish KB and the other targets identified across the wider licence area in Georgia as another world-class copper-gold asset on the prolific Tethyan belt."
