Alhambra rolls the dice in Central Asia

Saga Creek Gold Company (a subsidiary of Alhambra Resources) once held the rights to several gold mining licences and an interest in the Uzboy project in Kazakhstan. The Kazakh courts declared Saga bankrupt and the trustee refused to recognise liabilities to Alhambra. Alhambra commenced arbitration against Kazakhstan under the ICSID rules and has now applied to the tribunal for provisional measures.
