Fujairah Gold FZC, part of global resources group Vedanta Resources, produces 9-9.5 tonnes of gold and about 90t of silver each year at the refinery, which has been operating since early 2009.

Vedanta, headquartered in London, is a significant worldwide producer of zinc, lead, silver, copper, iron ore, aluminium, and oil and gas. Currently employing more than 65,000 people around the world and with a business model focused on growth, expansion and value creation for shareholders, Vedanta's core values include operating responsibly, ethically, and having a positive impact on the communities in which it works.

Fujairah Gold FZC operates the precious metal refinery and a continuous cast copper rod plant at the strategically -located UAE site.

"In the precious metal industry, time is a commodity as precious as the gold, silver and copper that we produce.

We have designed our operations to be as time-efficient as possible and offer our clients a well-connected approach with international airport and major seaports within easy reach," a spokesperson for Fujairah Gold said.

In addition to its proximity to the world's major gold consumption markets, including the vast Asian market, Fujairah is among the most technologically advanced facilities producing conflict-free gold and silver (to Dubai Multi Commodities Centre/DMCC and OECD guidelines) to the highest quality standards.

"Setting a global standard in the precious metal and copper industry, our services and refining technology represent the most comprehensive and advanced precious metal refining and copper facilities in the world," the company said.

Built around state-of-the-art Outotec technology, the plant features electro-refining and hydrometallurgical circuits delivering high direct recovery rates and very low inventory of metals bound in the process.

The facility has an exemplary safety record owing to the Vedanta group's zero-harm focus and commitment towards the effective management of health and safety as an integral part of its business.

"Our employees have been the vital building blocks in the growth history of our company," added the spokesperson for Fujairah Gold.
