Boliden beats Q3 consensus despite maintenance

Revenues at Swedish mining firm Boliden fell by 12% quarter on quarter in Q3 to SEK 11.2 billion (US$1.16 billion) as maintenance shutdowns hit some of the company’s key assets. However, lower mining costs saw the company post earnings and EBITDA figures considerably above analyst estimates.

Operating profit was virtually flat at SEK 1.6bn (US$120 million), while free cash flow at the end of the period was negative at SEK -653m (US$-67.9m).
