The amount of mined cobalt will increase significantly through to the 2020s but with a growing concentration of single-country risk, according to a new report by S&P Global Market Intelligence.

Increased cobalt production is centred on the DRC’s Copperbelt region

The supply chain risk to cobalt could be the highest for any LME-traded commodity, report author Metals & Mining Research mining analyst Michael Giblin said.
