South32, Alcoa to restart mothballed Brazilian Alumar aluminium smelter

Australia’s South32 and joint-venture partner US-based Alcoa have decided to restart the Brazilian Alumar aluminium smelter after more than six years of care and maintenance – and South32 plans to power its 40% share with renewable energy.
