Indian output helps offset weaker world steel production

World crude steel production in October was 147.3Mt in October, which is level year on year and down 3.7% from September, with increases from China and India offsetting declines from other major producers, data from the World Steel Association showed.

India’s output rose 2.7% year on year to 10.5Mt in October, which took the January-October total up by 6.1% year on year to 103.8Mt.
