The G12 zone has a strike length of more than 650m and is interpreted to potentially have up to 450m of dip extent. It is open along strike and down-dip.

Drilling at G12 returned 10m at 1.7 grams per tonne palladium, 0.6gpt platinum, 0.1gpt gold, 0.2% nickel, 0.1% copper and 0.02% cobalt from 93m.

The latest drilling also extended the G8 and G9 zones to the north-east and extended the G2 zone down-plunge.

Step-out drilling returned grades of up to 3.7gpt palladium, while new infill results returned up to 10.2gpt palladium.

"The fact that we are still discovering new high-grade zones and identifying significant extensions in step-out drilling so far into the resource drill-out is testament to the exceptional scale and quality of the Gonneville deposit," Chalice managing director Alex Dorsch said.

"We have now identified a 12th high-grade zone in drilling targeting the non-magnetic, pyroxenite-rich north-western contact of the intrusion.

"This is an exciting development, with the newly defined zone projecting some 380m down-dip to a previous intersection in deep diamond hole JD018. The new zone remains wide open and requires further drilling to refine."

Chalice still has results pending for 116 holes ahead of a maiden resource in the December quarter, which will underpin economic studies.

The company is hoping to receive approve to drill the Hartog target, within the Julimar State Forest, later this quarter.

Chalice was last week named Explorer of the Year in the 2021 MNN Awards.

Chalice shares jumped 5.3% to $7.66, valuing the company at $2.7 billion.
