China slowdown to weigh on copper prices, LME Week hears

A slowdown in China’s economic growth will weigh on copper prices in 2022 before increased demand for the red metal courtesy of the energy transition provides bullish impetus in the medium term, Neil Shearing, chief economist at Capital Economics, told the audience on the first day of LME Week on Monday.
