Keto will relocate to Copenhagen to begin the role early July following the retirement of the company's current mining president Manfred Schaffer.

Keto has worked at Metso, a Finnish industrial machinery firm, for 10 years. For the past two years has run the company's mineral services and pumps division. Before Metco, Keto held senior roles at Kone Corporation and Nokia.

FLSmidth's CEO Thomas Schulz said Keto "comes with an extensive experience in service line management, spare parts and lifecycle offerings. He brings a strong commitment to customer partnerships, and believes strongly in delivering significant enhancements in performance, sustainability and asset optimisation."

Schulz added that the outgoing Schaffer "helped navigate an extended mining industry downturn and led the Mining organisation through the transition to a new way of working".
