Tabba Tabba re-emerges among sleeping giants

Falling costs and rising demand for long-life batteries have breathed fresh life into one of Australia’s older tantalum and lithium mines, the Tabba Tabba project inland from the country’s biggest iron ore export facility at Port Hedland.

The location, close to the heart of Australia’s shell-shocked iron ore industry, is one of the clues to a recent estimate of a 20% fall in operating costs at Tabba Tabba.
