Talks ongoing, although certificates of non-resolution granted at Harmony, Sibanye-Stillwater

After no agreement was reached at ongoing gold wage negotiations on Wednesday, the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) granted both the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) and the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) certificates of non-resolution at Sibanye-Stillwater, and AMCU a certificate at Harmony.

However, the unions agreed to continue to try reach agreements with the companies.

Discussions with Sibanye will continue and Harmony will meet with the NUM, UASA and Solidarity next week.

Village Main Reef and all four unions have agreed to continue negotiations on October 4.

Minerals Council South Africa chief negotiator Motsamai Motlhamme said it was disappointing that no more agreements had been made, but he hoped they would reach an wage deal that was in everyone's best interests.

AngloGold Ashanti signed new three-year wage agreements last week.
