We are looking for a commercially astute General Counsel to optimise the Commercial, Legal & Risk function within a successful Perth based ASX- Listed diversified mining house.
You will be a hands-on expert, doing this in a way that strikes an appropriate balance between commercial and operational objectives and sensibly managing legal risk.
The General Counsel role sits on the ExCo reporting to the Managing Director and advising the Board on all strategic legal, commercial and risk aspects of the business across all functions. This includes M&A and growth initiatives.
To ensure success you need to have a broad knowledge and understanding of Mining and Resources law and regulations, having the depth of experience to make prudent legal decisions. Demonstrate emotional-intelligence to make strong connections with senior management and the Board to implement a commercial, legal and risk framework which is tailored to fit the growth ambitions of the group.
A bachelor's degree in law and experience within the Resources industry in senior Legal Practitioner positions will be highly regarded.
