"Yannis as an integral part of our senior executive team will help us continue to strengthen our capabilities to provide for continued growth and expansion of the Traxys platform," the company's CEO Mark Kristoff said.

"We have been looking for the right individual to lead these critical functions within our organisation and we are thrilled to bring Yannis' talent and experience into the Traxys family."

Traxys, part of Nasdaq-listed Carlyle Group, turned over more than US$7 billion last year through its sourcing, trading, marketing and distribution of non-ferrous metals, ferro-alloys, minerals, industrial raw materials and energy.
