Currency to drive mining values

The value of South Africa’s currency, the rand, dropped by 10% against the US dollar a few days ago before recovering some lost ground, and while the sharp fall attracted limited interest it was a big event because it meant that South Africa’s mining industry gained an edge over competitors.
